Turkey or Chicken leftovers

  • Turkey or Chicken 1cup

  • 2 vegs of your choice 1 to 1 1/2cups of each( I use frozen vegs as I limit my salt)

  • Brown Rice about 1 cup(that depends on how much you want to make.

  • 2 or 3 cups of water

  • how much you need is based on how much you wish to make.

  • 2 or 3 tablespoons of margarine(this depends on how much you want to make.)

  1. Put turkey or chicken in slow cooker and add water to cover it. Season as you wish, add onion flakes or chopped onions to it. Let simmer all day. When it's cooked for about 3 or more hours it should be falling apart. You can use it right away or put in fridge over night. When ready to use Pull the meat apart(it should fall apart easily) Put rice in frying pan with 2tablespoons of margarine and add the meat. brown rice lightly add two cups of the broth from the slow cooker, add frozen veg. and simmer until rice is tender. Add more water if you want it more moist, less if you want sticky rice. Serve hot. Freeze left over broth in small container for future use. It adds great flavor than water does.

  2. The reason I tell you to adjust to the amount you wish to make is because I make enough for me to have leftovers, and I live alone, so my serving are much smaller than a family.
